This is where you will learn how and why to split a ticket
How to split a ticket
- Step 1: Navigate the ticket for the correct split point
- Step 2: Assign the correct ticket properties to the new ticket
- Step 3: Close the original ticket
Step 1: Navigate the ticket for the correct split point
- Find the place that the ticket should be split based on where the new part of the query starts
- Click the split button, if present
Step 2: Assign the correct ticket properties to the new ticket
- Change all the fields to correspond with the new query
Step 3: Close the original ticket
- If the original query is resolved, set the status accordingly
- If not, leave it open and continue to solve the query that remains
Foot Note:Not all tickets can be split. In that case, create a child ticket for the new part of the query.
The reason you would split a ticket is to create a new work stream - in the case where a new query has arisen, i.e. a quote becoming a collection.
